Dawn's four year stint as a substitute teacher with Memphis City and Shelby County Schools was quite eye opening. She realized that there were too many students that weren't prepared with the proper tools on a daily basis. These students weren't able to complete their in class work and were often docked for not having their homework due to the fact they didn't have pencils and paper at home. 

 

As Dawn's heart strings broke and tears flowed, Dawn and her husband Brad decided to "adopt" a few students in need at Christmas time. The next year they foucused on backpacks and school supplies, they purchased 15 and filled them with required supplies. The next year they added another family to the list at Christmas and increased thier backpack donation to 30. After the 30 backpacks Dawn and Brad vowed to have a bigger impact by the beginning of the next year. Our goal this year is to have 250 backpacks filled and distributed the first week of school. Until now it has just been Dawn and Brad, so this is where you come in. In-kind donations or any monetary donations are welcome and much appreciated!
